Our story
LinkAmerika was started in 1992, when the founder Steve Rappaport arrived in then Czechoslovakia with the idea of introducing new and innovative products and brands from America to the developing consumer market. Some of our first imports were American peanut butter, which was last imported during World War II, American pet foods and vitamins.
Over the years, we have expanded this same concept of value-added FMCG trade in several ways:
- We source products globally for both value and innovation.
- We research products and innovation continuously to be on top of the market and provide our clients with up-to-date offerings and information.
- We will produce products ourselves if we cannot find adequate market-based offers or the needs of our clients that are unmet.
- We have expanded our distribution to all of the places where consumers prefer to shop: grocery, drugstore, convenience, travel-value, internet, independent, hypermarket and specialty.
- We cover most categories of FMCG where we can add sustained value: Food, Health & Beauty care, Fragrance and Cosmetic as well as selected non-food categories.
As a Czech company, LinkAmerika is now present in nearly all sectors of the Czech consumer retail market. We also have developed a supply network of over 500 companies across Europe and the world.
We have been fortunate in having a great group of people in our company which gives us an advantage in both gaining new distribution and developing our product portfolio. Currently, we have four key account managers and eight sales staff. Our warehouse and administrative support staff is able to label over 1,5 million units of product and pick and ship more than 1000 orders monthly.
